
Maria F. Nieto is a New York City based writer and event planner. Her copywriting portfolio includes everything from speechwriting, public service announcements and business letters to website copy, magazine articles and company taglines.
As an event planner, Maria has a wide breadth of experience in the planning and execution of special events and has worked on many high profile galas, celebrity chef galas and million dollar golf tournaments catering to diverse audiences. She is a skilled auction manager and a keen logistics coordinator who can oversee all aspects of an event ranging from guest registration, to fundraising auctions, to the live musical performance, to the event décor and everything in between.
As a former writer and event planner for the leading non-profit Autism Speaks, Maria has crafted remarks for such industry leaders as Tom Brokaw, Tom Colicchio and Mel Karmazin among others. In addition, she has written tailored public service announcements for such celebrities as Conan O’Brien, Brian Williams, Anne Curry, Meredith Vieira, Matt Lauer, Al Roker, Carrie Ann Inaba and Hoda Kotb. She has also written the script for the public service announcement featuring the Noggin Channel’s “Wow Wow Wubbzy” character as part of Autism Speaks’ Ad Council campaign, soon to be televised nationally.
In 2008 she served as the speech writer for Autism Speaks Co-Founders Suzanne and Bob Wright’s opening ceremony remarks at the Third Annual International Forum on Children with Special Needs, a gathering of global leaders in Doha, Qatar.
