Freelance Writing and Event Planning Services

The Blueprint: Each project begins with a consultation to discuss your vision for your project. Whether you are looking for perfectly crafted writing or a perfectly executed event, the framework for the finished product comes from your vision. Once the vision is in place, we’ll outline the services you need for the outcome you desire. My job is to employ my skill sets in order to help you realize your goals. Based on our discussions, we’ll create an outline that directs the course of action including the role(s) I will assume on your project. Together, we’ll draw up the perfect blueprint.

Our consultation will cover your goals for the project as a whole and for my involvement in particular. If it is a writing project we’ll cover such topics as the “voice” for the copy – do you want the copy to convey a tone that is more personal or more business? What length copy do you need for each part of the assignment, something shorter and more direct for a website versus something longer and richer in narrative for a pamphlet? How are you branding your company or organization and how would you like that branding incorporated into the overall copy?

If your project is an event, we’ll cover such topics as your needs for the event in the months, weeks and days leading up to the event and your needs on the day of the event itself. Does your event include an auction? Does your event have staff and/or volunteers in place to assist with event logistics? These topics and more will be covered during our initial consultation and will become the blueprint for the finished product.

Construction: Now that our blueprint is in hand, I’ll get to work on generating the ideas and creativity that will bring your vision to life. I’ll draw on my background as a skilled writer and event planning professional to bring you the perfect mix of fresh thinking and solid performance. Based on your timeline for completion, we’ll communicate at different stages of the project to ensure that work is going according to schedule and that the project is proceeding in line with your vision.

The Unveiling: Once the task is done and your vision is realized, we’ll unveil that vision to the world. When the event day comes or the website is launched or the speech is delivered, you’ll be able to present your audience with a towering achievement that will set the standard in creativity and professionalism.

Initial 30 minute consultations are available for $50. For writing projects there is a $125 flat fee hourly rate. Rates for event planning services are on a per project basis and may be negotiated as a flat project fee or as an hourly rate, dependent on the scope of my services.
